How safe is it to use real phone number to book fl.

I had one OKT who sent me Seasons Greetings last year. It did not include any incriminating information... just normal "wish all customers blah blah blah..." but still, my significant other saw it and asked me who it was. Manage to siam with an easy excuse.

Some guidelines (not foolproof, but helpful):
1. Do NOT save the numbers in your contact list. OKTs numbers are available on SBF (either in thread or in your PM) all the time... can always look them up using your smart phone web browser.
2. If you must save the number, jumble up or shift the numbers in a sequence you know. At least if they try the number, they will get wrong number. Plus caller ID won't work, so incoming calls/SMS you can always say "wrong number". Of course, you should use some innocent name in your contact list.
3. If you use your smart phone/tablet browser to access SBF and other NSFW/NSFF sites, then get web browsers that have "incognito" or "private" mode. Chrome for Mobile is one example. Always remember to close your browser.
4. Get SMS apps that have a "private" SMS inbox. You can set it such that certain numbers (no need to be in contact list) do not display notification or play the notification sound. You normally don't care if OKT or independent FL initiate SMS to you, so no issue missing them. When you want to book them, you will send the first SMS and check your SMS private inbox every few minutes to see if there are replies.

Just additional info for those who need it: "Incognito" mode simply means that the web browser will forget the web address and any login information after you close the "Incognito" window. Meaning, wherever website you went on the browser, the address is not stored in your browser history and it will not remember your login name.

Caution: if you have been to the website and logged in using the normal browser before, the browser will still remember the address and login name from those sessions. You need to clear your browsing data first.
