Madness along the city moat. cute thai gals in wet-tees everywhere. Spurt your water gun at them or rub their faces with talcum powder/flour.

Chiangmai-nese take their Songkran seriously. Bubbles disco at Pornping hotel seems not too bad either. Saw stream of cute puyings when i ate at the restaraunt across the road.

too bad i was with my gf then. NO ACTION

Anyway...won't be going to CM anymore because I came back not too long ago from BKK/PTY, courtesy of Jetstar.

If you've yet to settle your accom, I'd like to recommend you this "Night Bazaar Palace" or something. The night bazaar is right at it's door step and it's near MacDonald's.

Quite cheap...about 3 stars at only 700Bht/ room for 2 single bed/1 queen size bed. Look out for their logo with an elephant.

The hotel is at the end of the night bazaar street near to this temple. The receptionists are all very cute and helpful.

it's owned by Japanese people. Good services, there are new themes now but my favourite is stil the Arabian Nights Cottage.

Playing Songkran in Chiang Rai....I recommend going by car to Lake Phayao which is about 1 hour or less south from Chiang Rai. They use the water from the lake, so it's cleaner than the canal water they use in Chiang Mai.

Discos? Lumpang (south of Chiang Rai) has "Mot Dance" ...translated into "Dancing Ants". Chiang Rai's largest disco is Par Club located next to Income Hotel (not sure if Par Club is still open for bizness), nearby the Income Hotel about 15 mins walk away (you stand in front of Income Hotel with your back facing Income Hotel's main door, go to your left and walk) is a late night restaurant where many girls hang out, some are freelancers, some are just normal ladies looking for ONS and money with a good time with foreigners.

Chiang Mai? I recommend Goodview and Riverside restaurants for relax and yak yak. G-spot disco for freak-out, dont bother about the number of gays, there's a lot of pretty girls with them. Sleazy coyote ugly bar top dancing pubs - Forte Chiang Mai (I think it's not related to Forte Bangkok). Songkran's water splashing is best along the canal, look out for the Heinekken Pavilion, they always have the prettiest girl dancers. If you can ride a motorbike, riding around the canal during Songkran is nice but it's cold and painful when they splash ice cold water on you, get a girl to ride the bike and you sit pillion....hehehehe.
