Hi guys just to let you all know that on your way out after the JB customer do not speed as well. The police will be station at the old custom there to stop those who goes over the speed limit. My friend told me this when he was on his way out a few days ago so please be careful.

Juz for info for bros who frequent jb~
Msia polis are found stationing at old customs both entry and exit. Things they "fine" so far 1) HID 2) Car Curtains 3) Illegal number plates (chrome, US kind, as long as it differ from norm) 4) Car decals with more than 4 colours 5) Front Window Tints 6) Safety Belts Best way to avoid? Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
1 person = rm 50,
1 day = rm 2.500 (50drivers fine * rm50) 1 month = rm 75,000 1 year = rm 900,000 (rm75,000 * 12) A profit making buisness. Easy money. Last edited by pastandnow; 17-02-2009 at 06:01 AM. Reason: add on |

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
Yo bro,
Sad to hear all this, but I kanna escape that day. Think probably the TP also a new guy collecting money or so... That time was, when I returning back to Sg from causeway, just turn out from old jb custom and got 4-5 officers there harbouring... Stopped my car, say I never put on seat belt, and say "No seat belt, I fine you ah, 300RM, Ok ah, I fine u ah?" Then I was like stunned for a while and ask him to give chance, but he keep going "U never put on seat belt, so I must fine u, 300RM ah, ok? I fine u ah?" At that time, I was not sure if he was asking for bribes, so I ask, "wah, can give chance or not, sir? I never kanna traffic offfence in JB before leh, can give chance or not?" He insists of "Cannot la, traffic rules leh, I fine u 300RM ah, u go police station and pay ah, ok? 300RM?" Knn, I scare if I offer him money, he may sued me for bribery, as recently saw news that JB catching ppl offering bribes. So, thought try to 'cham siong' 1 more time, then if not, lan lan pay 300RM. So I told him, sir, give chance la, coming out from JB custom, want to put on belt le, but u already stopping my car le... Think he eventually also give up la, "Ok la, go go go..." And I thank him and happily drove off... Now come to think of it, both of us also newbie, and the best part is both side also dun dare to talk about the bribe... That's why I was lucky and got off... These blood suckers, last time haunt the NS highway for SG cars speeding, now even penetrate to causeway for our blood... Wonder what other plans they have next time... So, hope all bros really watch out for one another and be carefuly in JB... |

Of course they have some powers... if you play play with them, they will exercise the Police Act section 24 to search your vehicle and arrest you on suspicion of having illicit or contraband goods (even those that you had bought in Giant / Jusco will be considered so) or maybe they will also arrest you for in possession of "raping tools" There are many things that they cant do [without a calibrated radar gun, claiming that you had violated the speed limit; claiming that your tinting had exceeded the limits ...they actually need JPJ -MOT to ascertain the level] so, they tried to put up a front and frigthen Singaporeans into submission. BTW, the seat belt fine is RM 300 max. Just take the summons and pay up at Police stations and it may just cost RM 100. Just take a look at the link [Reported by Bernama on 9 January 2009 that our ever confusing Minister had calrified that all foreign cars are EXEMPTED from the rear seat belt ruling. Foreign vehicles exempted from rear seat belt ruling Just go and get some written clarifiactions form the Malaysian High Commission and pass that letter around to all SG motorists [this will challenge those chicken police and break thie chicken rice bowls] If you are that unfortunate to be arrested by them, then you might receive the same fate as Kugan [ as Malaysian POLIS is transcripted as 包你死)

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
Ah yes,It is true...Foreign vehicles are exempted from rear seat belt rules. But,in SGP, it is law to fasten rear seat belt so when we go JB we unfasten?. Maybe, in SGP the TP don really enforce this rule. But, is it serious if kena caught in SGP without belting up at the back? Esp for foreign cars?

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
yes SG TP do check the rear-seat people especially Taxi.
Do belt up when driving in Sg or My is for our own safety and the people in the car. cheers

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
I used to drive to JB/Malacca/KL/Genting/etc
but after too much highway robberies by real robbers or otherwise, I had stopped driving into Malaysia. Now I take a bus from from Singapore to Larkin and then to wherever you want to go, all problems solved.

Foreign vehicles exempted from rear seat belt ruling Found this website: http://portal.jpj.gov.my/v5/index.ph...Duduk-Belakang See Q 19: 19.Adakah kenderaan dari luar negara tertakluk di bawah peraturan ini? Ya. Kenderaan dari negara luar adalah tertakluk kepada peraturan ini. (roughly it mean we singapore car also need follow thier rule....) It make me very confuse..... Malaysia boleh......sometime said this, some time said that...No offen hor please! |
