Re: Hatyai,Thailand For Sawadee Newbies
Bros,
I went to have a look-see at SKY yesterday morning about 10.30am as adviced for best pickings. Got myself quite diappointed cos spotted only 2 farms open Andrew and JK. Walk round and round soi 2 & 3 and many shops empty , no sign board or not open (5 star) before finally spoting one Piano which looks run down and a guy outside told me its close down. Anyone know what happen to SKY? or are the info here outdated? or its just me anyway found a gem at Pizza 2. thanks for all the info here newbies like me have no problem! JC |

Bro are you an NTUC member? Pls check out this web site http://www.centralhotelsresorts.com/...alDay/NTUC.asp Super good price of 978Baht per night (Available for reservations from 1 - 31 August and valid for stay until 31 October 2006) This price even the local travel agent also cannot get.But do not know if the offer is still "on" or not?If you can get it then by all means book from there for your trip.Pls check if the dates you want have the offer price or not. If you can get it at that good price pls do not thank me as this "kan tao" was given by Bro Osaka69 here is the post http://sbfsg.agency/showpos...postcount=3080 As for the price of other hotel rooms, yes getting a hotel voucher from a local travel agent is cheaper then from web sites.(generally speaking) But as your ETA will be late (most travel agent will be closed by then) maybe you can get it from the web site for one day then on the next day buy the hotel voucher from the local travel agent for the rest of your stay. Hope this is helpful!Take care!!! Last edited by stiffneck; 30-08-2006 at 09:21 PM. |

Malaysia Day holidayers flood Hat Yai
Report from Bangkok Post dated Thursday 31 August 2006 :-
Malaysia Day holidayers flood Hat Yai Hotel occupancy in Hat Yai, Thailand's southern business hub in Songkhla Province, reaches 90 per cent during Malaysia's National Day celebrations this forthcoming weekend, as local tourism is not affected by the country's southern violence. A number of Malaysian tourists have begun their journeys to Hat Yai to celebrate the long Malaysian National Day holiday weekend from August 31- September 2. Over 12,000 hotel rooms - about 90 per cent of the district's total availability - were booked. Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Southern Provincial Office Region 1 Director Suthep Kuesang said TAT expects more than 70,000 Malaysian tourists to visit Hat Yai during the long holiday and their spending could be as high as Bt150 million (about US$4 million or MYR 14.7 million). Shopping centres in Hat Yai would hold a Thailand Grand Sale fair as a stimulus to tourism, said Mr. Suthep. TAT will also present special events such as shows and lucky draws downtown on September 2 to boost tourism. Head of Hat Yai-Songkhla Hotel Association Somchart Pimthanapoonporn said the number of hotel bookings is higher than that of the same period last year. It reflects that tourists are confident of Thailand's security measures and understand the situation in the country's deep South, Mr. Suthep said, and rumours about possible attacks do not have an impact on local tourism. --- KatoeyNewsNetwork |
