Doi Suthep-Pui Sight Seeing
Quote:
I was in Doi Suthep Pui too! Early in cold morning, I "cheong" through the Chiang Mai University, then to the temple. I even went to Doi Suthep-Pui National Park (camping ground) above 3000ft above sea level. After that, I went to the Hmong village. I came down-hill in 2.5hours behind the Hmong Village. It was very dangerous! In this Doi Suthep Pui trip, I took lots of pictures. |

Sridconchai Road directly opp Chiangmai Plaza Hotel and the other one along Super Highway just before Central Festival. This is a 50 years institution serving typical Chinese Teochew food at prices very much cheaper than our Chi Xar stalls in Spore. Also seafood is fresh. Cheers |

The way I look at the road leading to Doi Pui View Point, many people must have been killed. I have beautiful day view of CM after the National Park and I took precious photos while rolling sandy downhill exiting by Huay Tung Tao Lake. |

Not lurking la, because I also newbie in CM, not qualified enough to provide lobangs. No point trying to act smart when I really don't know, still in the 'receiving' stage. Currently busy with my own stuff, end up paiseh to keep flying aeroplane for some bros' invitation to La Kopi also.

Free-&-Easy Tour (On Motorcycle)
Quote:
Location: After Thapae Gate, there are a few motorcycle rental shops along Kotchasan Road. When you are in Kotchasan Road (only one traffic direction (southerly)), look to your left. Where: The first motorcycle shop you will see is inside a house. There is another motorcycle shop after the junction of Loi Kroh Road and Kotchasan Road (still at Kotchasan Road) and you are able to see wide range of high cc motorcycles available for rental. Rental tips: If you intend to "cheong far-far" away outside of Chiang Mai, you can consider high cc motorcycle. In my personal opinion, low cc motorcycle is good enough. Easy to control, park, and squeeze in the traffic. Before taking over the motorcycle, take pictures of every corner of scratch marks with the person (the owner) in the photo. This is a safe way to protect yourself upon returning. However, returning motorcycle is another tactic. Too long to write. General advice (i) - planning Now, riding a motorcycle is convenient and exciting "activity" in Chiang Mai. Grab a copy of free city map available in the Chiang Mai airport. Sit down in your hotel and plan where you go. This minimise accident and save petrol. Please do not complete all city attractions in one day. When there is time to slow or fast while riding, just follow the flow of traffic. If you feel you like to walk, just park your motorcycle. Also, don't forget, drink lots of water! Traffic outside of Chiang Mai city (at least 2km away in radius from the moat) is alright. Traffic within or near Chiang Mai city can be adventurous. General advice (ii) - what to bring Bring a sweater, and sunglass along. All motorcycle helmets stink, perhaps you may put on a disposable shower cap before wearing a helmet. I carried a handheld GPS device along just in case got lost. If you intend to go hotspring and/or waterfall, bring a swimming trunk. There are some places of interest require tourists to pay entrance fee (for vehicle and headcount). I dressed like a Thai and often got away with it visiting these places without asking me for a penny. When there are times for you to be silence, just be quiet. Advice riding to Doi Suthep Mountain (click here for map): After Chiang Mai University and Zoo, the road leading uphill to Doi Suthep is curvy, sharp and steep! If you feel uncomfortable at any point uphill, park your motorcycle and take a songtheow. No need to be shy to if you can't ride the motorcycle zig-zag against gravity. I am no kidding. I am not sure whether you are going alone or not. Or, what personality you have. Otherwise, I may able to suggest more. When I travelled abroad, I don't look for kinky action. I tried unusual things which Singaporeans do not do. |
