I went to Suzhou under the invitation of SIP and one of my supplier last thursday... This is my first business trip there and boy oh boy, I was impress with the development of SIP, 时代广场，李公堤，青少年活动中心，科技文化交流中心, and other spots. I was also in Taihu to do some inspection and was also impress. Suzhou, specially the 金鸡湖 surrounding are very pretty when night falls. All my colleagues that is based in Shanghai that accompany me to go to Suzhou are also impressed.

We were treated to 缤纷年代 by our host and the SIP management and the place is very posh... price is reasonable (Chivas 18 years at Rmb 1880) with tips at Rmb 400. The only problem is that the gals quality are a bit off for that sort of establishment. Service and sound system are top of the class.

I am seriously thinking of relocating our China regional HQ to Suzhou instead of Shanghai. I think I will be travelling there more often now as I want to have a better feel of the place.

We stayed at Howard Johnson and it was a fabolous hotel with room rate at Rmb 600.

To all senior bro here in Suzhou and bro J4F, I have a newbies question to ask and I went through the thread that begin in 2007 as I thought the information that contain before year 2007 won't be relevant or accurate.

Where is the place to go for pub or disco.
Where is the best pub with nice MM.
Is there place like Nanjing 1912 or 酒吧一条街
Where is the best fun KTV where you can autoroam and what are the charges.
Is there category Rmb 200 KTV with good MM

my info might be abit outdated since I am no longer station in suzhou...

There are a stretch of disco along the 阊胥路. SOS, 王牌 are all there...
If you want to bring MM to pub, perhaps you can try Harry's Bar along 临顿路. It is beside the suzhou garden hotel. It is an Angmo pub patronise by lots of singaporean. Also a nice filipino band.
KTV...Paisay, abit out liao... But all those autoroam ktv will b going at 300rmb... chivas shld be ard 600-800. I no longer have their no.

Thanks Bro J4F for the information... I heard the 阊胥路 as it was told by the KTV MM but never thought about the spelling was as what you wrote.

While I enjoy both KTV and disco, my staff preference has always been the KTV. Hence the KTV scene is also an important information. Cat Rmb 200 does fit in the budget that is allow under the company rule for 'self entertaiment'.

I would love to get more information on the KTV scene from the senior here. I will certainly try 帝豪 on my next trip.

hi pink floyd, u can also try the pub 百度 but i forgot the street name liao... but u can just tell the taxi driver baidu most will know..

ktv for autoroam is not that easy to find in suzhou... but i remember there was 1 near the south bus station but i also forgot the name liao!! just4fun brought us there... j4fun u still remember? can help heehee...

no problems, glad to be able to help.

suzhou is not the sort of modern happening city or those havoc south china cities... but it has a sort of cultural charm. most pple may find suzhou boring at 1st but after a period of time you may start to appreciate it.

enjoy suzhou.. holds much memories for pple like just4fun n me. post yr FR if u have the time but let us know if u no longer can find the places we recommend that means our info is outdated..
