Re: ShangHai Recommendation!

i dont think companies pay so much for a PM these days, especially for Sha where the condition is not 3rd world...

unless the job requires specific skills, like a CFO. In fact, many foreign co's now hire on "local plus" package for Sha postings..

Brother,

How are you? Our last meeting was in Singapore during a marriage celebration. How have you been going on! Are you still working in Shanghai?

To get 6.5k in Singapore probably sit one in mid level manager position depending on organization. Unless the TS has special skill that die die cannot get in china, if not the pay increase u mentioned is uncalled for.
My humble thinking..
At this lousy economy, impossible! I interviewed one china guy with MBA from Qing Hua university and solid English just ask for rmb25000 a month. He manages a team of 20 person in total (not all directly reporting) to him.

I feel us$200k per year should be a general manager or even a operations director job unless your company is an American or European MNC. Nowadays business difficult to do.

Possible but depends on what position and value your bring on table.
To manage $4-5mio project, quite hard, unless this project is your guanxi then awarded one, it will be different ball game. Mid level manager in china comes in lorry loads, no short of such personnel (I won't even use talent)

I feel one would be lucky to get 20% pay increase plus rmb6-12k rental, plus 2 econ tics per year plus medical insurance etc.

Alot of times, company pay u the same plus housing allowance, and 1 ticket per year. Tell you it's your career development, you don't want then someone else will go. You also LL. Unless you the higher flier, don't have you cannot.
But this type of organization, I doubt can afford to pay much as well.
In mNC- no one is indispensable.

Btw, will I get zapped for non sexual discussion or not?

Re: ShangHai Recommendation!

With that amount I get, need to pay ~30% tax per month(basic salary+allowance+housing allowance)
Work it out, not much difference if I stay back in Sillypore.
(CPF contribution + 13month(2 months) and lower tax......

Still waiting for their counter-offer, afterall, it will only be next year Jan that they need me there.
