if you mentioned you are going to Rach Gia, capital of Kien Giang Province...then

the bus terminal is Bien Xe Mien Tay Mai Linh at Binh Thanh district
need about one hour 30 minutes from airport to there

suggest you fly from hcm to rach Gia direct flight on Vietnam airlines (only about an hour flight)

the bust ticket last year Sep was 240k VND

dun need to prebook...the bus departs every 2 hours if I remember correctly..

The total journey is around 7 hours including 2 toilet breaks and makan...

BTW, just to point out not to find fault, wait he got wrong and dun know ended up where, its Ben Xe Mien Tay and i dont think its owned by Mai linh, all bus companies, big and small all operate there. The rest is as u said. u know best.

BTW, peacock29, it a bit messy at the bus terminal so keep yur eye OPEN WIDE.
Also, to add to what H88 kor kor have mentioned, the bus ticket price does not include the food at the rest stops. it is at yur own expenses.

Oh ya. peacock29, how and where u going to change VND? My advise is to change some small amount at the HCMC Tan Son Nhat airport for yur taxi and bus tickets and for the food at the rest stops.

you are right...Bien Xe Mien Tay...the bus company is Mai Linh which is green in colour...Mai Linh monopolised the whole of southern Mekong area right from HCM to Kien Giang passing by many provinces like Tieng Giang, An Giang, etc...Phuong Trang dun go there...Phuong Trang is strong to Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Dalat, etc...

Phuong Trang now slowly going into southern Mekong area. When i last went back to my in law place in An Giang in April, i took Phuong Trang. Cheaper than Mai Linh somemore.

Since u r staying in HCMC 1 night, i suggest u can go to Ben Thanh Market there to change vnd. Look for this gold shop Mai Van, just opp Cho Ben Thanh, at the intersection og Nguyen An Ninh and Phan Chu Trinh. rates are higher there.

in Sep, Rach Gia is rainy season and windy...the long bus journey will be boring...I had endured before and 7 hours solid...finished reading one 450pages novel and still dun arrive yet...but mine was from Rach Gia to hcm...flights are full and had to go back so no choice...really love to go back there...Kien Giang gals are pretty...quite a few tall and long legged fair VBs...

Plans changed. Anyway thanks for all your info bros, really appreciated.

My supposedly a surprise visit to my BX was foiled by her. Told her i am working and will be uncontactable for 24hrs. KNN then she super emo, near die liddat. Bo bian say the truth lo, lousy liar or she know me too well?

Change flight to Sunday and she insist of coming to HCM to fetch me as i never been to Rach Gia, Kien Giang.

I should register myself to this club, although slient reader for this thread for nearly 6months, but still i feel VB sometimes really hard to understand.

A brief background.. i propose to her after a 6 months or so courtship. ROM dec this year. She is back home preparing documents and renovate house after Hungry Ghost. She is also on the process of selling her coffeeshop and motorshop and come stay with me in SG after marriage.

Some questions:

1) Why she is so particular in me calling her bX in everyday conversation and even in SMS? And i must address myself as OX vice versa? Too used to type me, you, i for the whole of my life, sudden change very hard to get use leh.

2) Man marry woman always need to spend money right? Well, she is so calculative in saving my money even though i feel it is NEED TO SPEND. Always her reasons is save for baby and for the future. Always her reason to me " Ox oi, you know when raining? " (simply means save for rainy days)

Ok, i know saving is good. But i feel need to spend means need to spend. i mean save so much, you also dont know when you die right? (well, i am talking little extreme, hope bros understand my POV) And she will blah "money cannot buy love" i talk somemore i get a big IM MOM!!

3) I am suppose to meet her father, (her mother passed away since young, she had been acting as mother to 2 sisters since young) this trip. What should i expect? What should i give as gift? I ask my BX, haha maybe bros guess it, she say no need. If need she will buy and write my name. But seriously i dont care, i feel i really need to buy something. Bros please help me out here suggesting.

I have until sunday now to prepare. Kindly give some advices / feedback / suggestions. Positive Negative all are welcomed. I may add on to my questions if i thik of any.

I used to stay at Q.Binh Thanh, near to the bus station. Normally, it will take around 40 mins to reach that area from the airport. But that was some years back, now with more cars and traffic, maybe add another 30 mins to the journey.

I like only fair skinned viet gals, often, gals from the southern provinces are too tanned. But once in a while when i see one or two fair skinned ones, they will attract my attention. Besides being fair skinned, they should have a sense of dressing, gals with fake Be Be and who show half balls basically strike me as WL and are out for me. My idea is quite simple, i need someone who can attract me physically, or else, why get involved with her?

3. how rich are you? if you really like to spend and want to impress her father, buy him something 24k gold. vietnamese highly value gold over paper money. also bring some european-branded chocolates or cookies for her sisters
