i guess my noob question mean specifically the criteria needed..

eg. i earn 2.5k my spouse earn 1.5k as a wp after that 1 apply i had my wife's pr approve..
the key word is "specifically " all i found on www is general guideline like bring in 5 mil to invest to increase yr chance..

i am sure by now you should know our sin gahmen is one that favoured the rich and ignored the poor...so generally the criteria is earn as much money as possible...afraid to say if what you said you earned and your wife earned above will not get approved easily...haha...you may have to apply many more times after each rejection...unless she has a child born a singaporean...then things look more positive...but still need to follow ltvp, PR then citizen each at least 2 years or longer wait...

please go down to ask the ICA for the overall criteria and your chances...

well, even for LTVP, those married for less than 3 year are having a hell of a time ..

not so easy ..

Re: Issue with ICA

thats the problem... i m 30 this year, i am waiting for wife PR to be approved so i can apply for BTO... i m not looking at the non citizen spouse scheme that allow u to purchase resale unit.. to me the price is ridiculous... if say my wife managed to get her PR in 5 year i will be 35.. and waiting for TOP i will be 40yo..

to some ppl.. u might question why dont i get a baby first b4 buying a flat..
my answer like most singapore citizen "HOME FIRST"

i guess this is something i got to deal with being a citizen in sillypore marrying a FT

I understand ur situation. Resale flats are a real killer with the crazy COVs. However, it seems that COVs are coming down. There is a chance.

PR is difficult, be prepared for LTVP+. Not sure if can apply for BTO.

Anyway, BTO prices not cheap either. You just do not need to fork out cash for COVs.

Consider condo?

Re: Issue with ICA

nah.. the policy is set in a way that if u have a FT spouse u must be at least 35 yo b4 u are allowed to buy a BTO 2room else go to the resale market and find your home..

if i have the cash to pay COV i wont be here complaining...my 3 room flat with parents now houses 5 people.. how will i dare to have a baby in this kind of situation..

I'm a foreigner (LTVP+) married to a citizen and expecting our first child before the end of the year. We're going to the HDB office in a few days time to inquire, will update you guys on what they will tell us.

I just recently went through the HDB eligibility criteria on their website and this is how I also came to understand what they wrote. Having a citizen child is a big deal for getting eligibility, I think.
