My wife use the word 'saigon' when she go to the town 'district 1,ben tanh market area or the whole tourist stretch to diamond plaza.So when she tole me she go saigon,i know what she mean.Is to hcm 'orchard road".

When i first went there 10 years ago,i was also confused as to why lonely planet book have 2,1 is ho chi minh city and the other 1 is saigon,then later i realised that is the same

Saigon was given by the american when they conquer there during the vietnam war and was change to ho chi minh city when he lead a battle to fight away the amercian.So that city was name after him to honour him

IN Singapore ... did not give .. what she want to use , what to buy , what she want to eat .. baby stuff .. ALL on me .. All in all should not exceed $1k-$1.2k ...

Yes, if you have been going to the market, you will know everything has risen in price. From fish,meat to vegetables, everything has risen in price. But it also voices down to what you eat for meals, is it very simple or is it good meals? My family is big now as my parents are staying with me for a few months before their flat arrives and my family eat quite good food. I spend like $350 for marketing each week, and this is only for fresh vegetables, meat and fish. Fairprice marketing is another sum of $300 per week. There are 3 children and 6 adults (my parents, my baxa and i and 2 maids). So its a big family for now.

There are 2 sets of Expediture ... Ours and My Mum ...

Every month my wife will give my Mum some extra money to help out in offsetiting her expediture ...

In total there is 3 adults, 1 children and 1 baby and sometimes will plus another 2 children of mine who come to eat dinner ..

So if I combine both sets of Expediture .. Yes , its going to be bigger ....

Yes .. I agree it really depends on the food , we don't really eat that good food lah ... 1 soup + 1 veg + 1 meat + rice ...

If we really go groceries shopping .. it will break down to about 120 - 150 per week .

I know what my bx is up to, she always keep 'si fang qian' & every couple of months, she go & buy gold. I think buying gold is also a kind of investment & that why I did not stop her from doing so.

yes.. interested to know that too.. seems like car is not really common in HCMC, compare to bike.
