Since you are newbie to batam cheonging, I advise you on these few things.

1) Never trust anyone.
2) Keep your belongings properly.
3) never forget the rubber


Since you been to Batam before, you are not as blur as some others. Try going by wavemaster to Batu Ampar, that ferry is closer to many cheonging places.

As for hotel wise, try Formosa as it is easiest to get to alot of cheonging places. Also walking distance to many places without a taxi. Taxis will charge commission for finding gals. You have read about the names of the fishtanks, and massage wise, read my link. Taxi to hotel, take from port or get the hotel staff to get for you, not from the streets, especially if you dont speak their language and they see you as a fat goat.

Makan wise, there are alot of food stalls near your hotel area, all within walking distance.

As for gals wise, mostly indos local lah. Rarely you get a indo chinese. Most chinese dont sell their bodies, they are kept. Also they charge much higher rates. If you are keen on chinese, I suggest you go Gelyang.

For those who really really very interested with indo chinese gal, can try your luck at selat panjang. Just recently boss of Pacific "married/bought" a indo cina virgin syt at 35juta. Actually consider good price

The best way to cheong bantam the 1st time is to sponsor Ah Hia a 2 day 1 night trip. Then I am sure he will be willing to teach u some lesson. Everytime I go batam, the taxi driver sure want to bring me to find gals...
Swiss inn is 4 stars hotel and their massage is exp 180k a hour. Walking distance to top 100 and BCS though.

I used to like Swiss Inn when they had the bar/KTV at level 2, that had some good finds. Swiss Inn is pretty decent at an affordable price. However, fewv things to note about :

1. No in-room safe deposit box (for me this is necessary).

2. There were previous complaints on security lapse, examples of housekeeping opening room door for cewek to enter. I have personally experience this but there were some posting here on this.

3. It is not exactly that near, and for most it is not that walkable to joints, bars, makan places, etc....will need taxi. As such, most of the time, rooms are available.

let me give a good suggestion for consideration :

For Hotel :
1. Lovina : Price Rp.160.000 - Rp.280.000 (S$25 - S$40) Rated : **
A lot of Foreigner stayed in this hotel , becos it near the BCS mall (5 minutes walk), Food Stalls, And the Hotel is clean and safe. (beware u might meet someone u know)
The Minus points are : the room was quite small, and breakfast only bread and egg are served. No Facility inside (E.g. swimming pool, massage center, etc)

2. Hotel 89 : Price Rp.300.000 - Rp.550.000 (S$45 - S$80) Rated : ***
Quite nice Hotel with a reasonable Price, The room here is bigger than Lovina Inn, It served international Breakfast, have massage (just massage) and health center. Near Shopping center BCS Mall (10 minutes walk) and Food stalls.

3. Swiss Inn : Price Rp.370.000 - Rp.650.000 (S$55 - S$90) Rated : ***
Quite nice hotel, almost served like Hotel 89, the thing that different them was PRICE, in this Hotel everything are expensive than the HTL 89.

Haha!! Thanks bro ndnd, already on the way to selat panjang...an pek likes to taste white-cut chick for a change...35juta is quite ok...if just stay with u for a year...hope to get one sweet2 syt...hehe!!!
