Many years ago I always buy dutyfree before leaving WTC....... sometimes buy extra bottle if my stay is longer....... no problem at all

I dun drink now so dun know about latest policy on dutyfree

..... although sometimes I will still buy to blanja the customs / immigration

You are allow to buy dutyfree liqour to batam center or any other ferry terminal.Best to buy in sg then head over,batam center used to have one duty free shop but its no longer there.Harbour bay have one which u can buy upon arrival.

For coming back u are allow to buy one bottle of liquor,1 lt wine & 1 lt beer if only u stay more than 48hrs.

I have a question for you bros who know Batam well- is there a website or place where I can get a street map of the main city in Batam?

When I look online, the best I can find is a map of the whole island and a couple of main roads.

I did go to Batam once with a girl I was dating beginning of the year, but we just took taxi to the main shopping centres and that was it. There was no Tourist Centre with maps or anything.

Obviously the reason I'd like a map is so I can better work out where to go and do the "wild thang"!

Please reduce comments about being a lazy dumbass to a minimum.

Give you the most detailed map of Batam also useless. People get around with LANDMARKS, not street name. Maybe if you take a taxi and tell them Sei panas, they will bring you to that main road, U need to tell them WHERE along that road U need to alight. No one will really pay attention to the names of the smaller roads. So it will be alot easier If you just tell them the most famous landmark near where U want to go, and direct the cabby from there. If you dun know the place, most likely the taxi will bring you to the wrong location. But be assured that almost all taxi drivers will know which fishtank is which, so names will be useful here.
