TET is just around the corner. How many bros with Vietnamese spouse go back to Vietnam with their spouse yearly for this big festival? For me, i have only spent 1 TET in the province, and it was a nightmare... hahhaha Pocket kanna big hole.

I have spent 4 Tet(s) in VN. True, it will burn 1 big big hole in you pocket if you choose to return on this day. For me no choice, as wifey and I only return once a year.

Every Tet spent in VN is the same, the whole kampong will treat your home as a museum open house. Everybody will come and view me as a living "museum artifact". And everybody that comes will say "Co ly si kg". Painful...

Bro for this survey, should we also list down whether the couple has a child born after marriage or not. I believe this is one of the important factors ICA will consider when granting PR status.

My wife and I had spent Tet in 2009 in Ho Chi Minh City and I only gave a total of 1.4 trieu dong li xi to my 5 brothers and sisters in laws and few children.

So how much did you give in total?

Last year did not spent Tet @ Vietnam ....

This Year Not Sure .... Most Likely Not .... My BX is 9 mth Pregnant, will not be going out , so she ask me no need to come vietnam for Tet ....

Now I on my way to airport, flying back to SG on Lion Air

this is a big misconception that if you have kids, will get PR. ICA mentioned some years ago that having kids will not enhance the chances of foreign spouse getting PR. i have known several viet spouses who still cannot get PR after having kids, be it 1, 2 or 3 kids.

that 1 TET, besides li xi and the extra things that i was asked to buy and also give treat to relatives, 25 million VND.

my ang pow money is about 2 million vnd....i dun really have any problems in the village during Tet,other then my wife's relatives,i dun give ang pow to any others....n the best part is,my wife's relatives r all grown ups,having less then 10 kids....

In today's exchange rate is still more than SGD1.5k...but last time the exchange rate was only 11kvnd...wow xiao...big big hole...

Vietnamese brides living in Singapore can actually 'localise' themselves by learning to speak Singlish. They just need to go marketing and shopping more. Picking up Singlish from market stallholders and shop keepers etc.

Another point. A few Vietnamese bride marriage agencies in Singapore have closed down. Including the Taiwanese, Mark Lin's shop.

Sooner or Later .. Vietnam will stop VN Gals marrying foreigner ... But i guess SG are ok ... Korean sooner or later sure kena banned .. Recently just got news again ... VN bride beaten by Korean Beast ....
