usually mother sick wan.... looks like Viet men never get sick easily.

based on the amount she asks and the frequency she asks, sure her mother is always in "critical" condition for long time... but suprisingly never "die" wan....

sometimes, I see the amount they ask in thousand, i just wonder why their mother deserves better medical treatment than us in singapore?

xiao la, tell your viet gal, if no money, just go to the local hospital or clinics la, in fact they hate to go to hospital. when they are sick, they prefer to go to phamacy to buy medicines

just relate some of my kaki's experiences

most of the viets prefer to save money and just buy medication direct from pharmacy. In actual fact, most of their pharmist are not qualified. normal hospitalization fees in the province are cheap, normally will not exceed 1 million VND if stay in province hospital for a few days. If more serious, will send to HCMC and mostly into the general hospital in Q5 for provinces in the south. Conditions for the locals in that hospital is damm bad, can even see rats running around the wards. In 2005 when my wife's relative got admitted, bed charge is 150,000VND a day, inclusive of medication. So also not too expensive. So if the gal asked for a few thousand USD for the mother to see doctor, then she really think u know nothing about Vietnam. IN HCMC, maybe FV Hospital will run up bills to a few thousand dollars. Other possible clinics are those international clinics. These are the places that most locals will not go.

true again. Sammyboyforum is an island of sanity, amidst a strange world in Vietnam...

I can understand some of the fear of hospitals though. The Japanese once paid for a top notch, state-of-the-art hospital, with all bells and whistles of modern medical technology. But no doctors and nurses wanted to work there! Why? The Japanese had planned a special corruption proof payment system, so that the staff could not get "gifts"...

Vietnamese usually give $$$ to the doctors(especially surgeons) at public hospitals to jump Q or to ensure the surgeon's hands don't tremble during operation. Almost all Vietnamese doctors have their own private clinics(these are their cash cow); they donate their salaries at the public hospitals
to charities.

Also as a form of bribe to ensure that the nurses will take care of the patients...

Fv hospital is Franco-Vietnamese Hospital. Its a french Vietnamese setup and one of the only few hospital in Vietnam that meets international standard. Its located at District 7, Phu My Hung. Some singapore doctors do go there monthly under the request of rich vietnamese. The hospital offers french specialist doctors and also local doctors.

Yes, the hospital at Q5 is Cho Ray hospital. Go upstairs to see their local wards, u will surely FAINT!! I understand that cho Ray hospital has a international clinic for foreigners, but after seeing their local ward, u may not want to visit them anymore. Its a norm to bribe the doctors in vietnam. When my wife gave birth to my daughters at the International hospital at Bui Thi Xuan Q1, i gave the doctor a US$800 ang pao for delivering my twin daughters. The doctor still think not enuff. The doctor told me that her son is studying at ACS in Singapore. heheheh

Experts like Anh DepTrai can make every girl he wants eat out of his hands. Amateurs like me have to rely on the quantity approach: I fish for many girls, and 3 out of 10 will dump me.
So I hear a lot of excuses. Two of my favourites:

1) Anh oi! Can not come by motorby today, verry sunny, not good for em!

2) Anh oi! Have rain coming! Can not come now.

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner

I just explained to another em:

There is one thing poor people like you will never understand. Poor people are poor because the give away money. Rich people are rich because they DO NOT give away money!

So if you want money, go find yourself a poor boyfriend. I am very rich, from me you will never get a single dong. I can only give you my heart.

Very confusing for vietnamese I think...I doubt she'll ever understand it.

Bro, how long have u been in hanoi? Vietnamese gals like rich and generous foreigner. there;s another thing to watch out for, never ever comment that they are poor and u are rich. Viet gals are especially sensitive to the word POOR, if you say they are poor, they will say you look down on them.

Who says they are poor? Once they lie down and open their legs, they will be very rich after we deposit our sperm in their CHIM...

I'm about confused about your wording though. In the North Con Chim (bird) is the male part. Buom (butterfly) is the female part...less politely known as LON.

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner

Oi gioi oi. Guess why I am posting at 4am in the middle of the night!

It all started when I receive a txt message - "Sorry can not go to BKK and Sillypore with you now" - few minutes later "I am crying now".

Can not go? I am alarmed, so I ask what happened:
"My father is sick. I have to visit him. But I can not"
Aha! the usual sick father. I try to call her. She doesn't answer. Keeps sending txt messages. I gets worse: "I am very sad to ask you but I need money to buy tonic for my father". Oh no, I think, I better dump her now, but I want to say it face to face, so we agree to meet for dinner. She's quite busy as she has an exam tomorrow.

As soon as I see her, I am spellbound again. Her eyes...and I am suddenly in doubt if I want to dump her. So I ask for details. She tells her father had a car accident (I never heard that one before). I say I want to visit him, and to my surprise she agrees. I ask for more details, and the story actually sounds credible.

She also assures me we can go to BKK later, after she has visited her father...(so it's not that her parents didn't want her to go with me, as I had suspected).

I am still annoyed about the money thing though. And I give her a lecture, I tell her I have dumped every girl which asked me for money so far. She explains how sad she is to ask me...I actually believe her (am I gullible). Well I keep looking at her and decide not to dump her yet. But I ignore the money thing. I go away, claiming I have an important business meeting.

She sends me a message when she is going to bed, 11 pm. 5 minutes later new message - no electricity in Cau Giay. We exchange a few messages. I start to tease her. I had never kissed her in real life before (I basically just met her) - but I start to "kiss" her by sms. Different body parts...

At some point I drop the bomb - Anh DepTrais killer line:

Quote:
Em kg tot, chi muon lam anh dau chim thoi, kg fai lam anh dau tim!
she answers: I think that u say wrong VietNamese. I hope that.

a few minutes later: "Because my home is power off now.so I want to go outside.I am hot"

She's an english student, so I tease her about the "I am hot"...and give her some compliments.

new message: "Thankyou very much.do u want to pick me up to your house now?..."

Wow. At first I think she is kidding. When I am sure she's serious, I quickly wash my face, and run to my car while I put on a shirt.

Tay Ho to Cau Giay in 10 minutes...average speed somewhere just below 100km/h...If there was cong an on the street, I probably killed them.

In the car, she says the just wants to drive for an hour, then go to her house to sleep. I drive towards my house, and suggest she better sleeps in my guest room since she has an important exam tomorrow.

At home, I show her the guest room. Where I conveniently forgot to switch on the A/C. Then I show her my bedroom, which is nice and cold. I was never in doubt we would sleep in the same room - con gai viet are usually terrified of sleeping alone. The game goes on: she suggests she can sleep on the floor. No, I say, I can sleep on the floor. On second though - my bed is king size, so you will not disturb me there. At this point, I was more than happy enough to have her in my bed. I knew she would come back anyway, so I decided I did not want to sleep with her now. I did not think about this then , but that mindset - "I do not want to sleep with you now" - attracts women like nothing else.

Sure enough, 10 minutes later, while I'm trying to sleep: "I can not sleep". "I do not feel well". "Can you massage me".

Ok I massage her head. We are both fully clothed. After a while she says she's feeling better. I ask her to turn around, so that I can massage her neck. I massage her slowly, and kiss her neck. I touch her arms. Still fully clothed. Suddenly she takes off her blouse. Things slowly progress. The amazing thing is - she is taking the initiative! The "I don't want to sleep with you now" attitude works wonders.

I had some of the best hours of my life. With a model-type dream girl. In the night before her exam...

After, we shower together. I scrub her back. She's no longer shy now. I asked her what happened, why she was so "hot". "I don't know" she says "maybe I was crazy today".

I don't know what happened to me either. Affected by hormones, I will probably go with her to buy "medicine" for her father, and visit him...whatever...it is definitely worth it.

So I am a happy man now...and I started to call her Em Yêu this night
