FYI, 2 days before 8700,one of my friends got something close to 8800 and I quickly went to change some for my personnel use but only managed to get 8700

I concur, hai hai which is my regular money changer, gives better rates when I change in big amount. Usually, a phone call to them first, and then go down. Nego over the phone first.

Yes, definitely!
In July, when I had to change some USD, the rate posted on the sign in most exchange offices around Nagoya Hill and Lucky Plaza was 9900 for 100USD notes. When I specified I wanted to change 500 USD in 5 notes (not a big amount for an office which manages thousands), the rate immediately became 10100, or 10150, or even 10200 in one place.
It's a big difference.

Yes normally call them to fix rate and sometime don't even have to go there, just transfer the funds via internet banking.

Confirmed! Hotels, food, and cewek prices definitely heading North! So i wont be that happy even if rupiah exchange to our benefits.

Most hotels quote their prices directly in SGD. So, the exchange rate is not relevant.

The price of cewek at massage joints was increased about +50% or even +100% in the last 4 years (that is, since my first visit to Batam). I remember my first time. Cheapest girls were quoted 300k, and they were not few.
Now 400k? 500k?

But the price of cewek is strictly dependent on market rules: the price results from the equilibrium between demand and request.
I guess that the only way to push down the price of cewek is to reduce demand.
Should we start to claim only bad things here and on ISG?
E.g., Batam is dangerous, seafood is not fresh, scams everywhere, people is unkind, girls are ugly.... (You know what is my actual opinion instead)
Maybe less tourists will come to visit Batam...
