when i first went there,my very first impression of that place is it look like our singapore during our 60s to 80s time.in term of the local streets and building,but till now nothing change

Its only `no entry' during the time of the month. Any other time, my wife and i are still `hot' after so many years. If your wife is always giving reasons for not making love with you, there is surely something wrong. You got to find out the problem.
Rat meat is delicacy in Vietnam, so is dog meat. Rat meat is nice, especially BBQ. I don't take dog meat as i am in business. But still top of my list is BBQ Goat Breast and goat soup.

Actually, i feel that HCMC has changed quite a bit since 10 years ago. Much more cars now, much more taxis, much more new taxis, much more motorbikes, less bicycles, much more mobile phone companies, much cheaper mobile phones and calls, more tall buildings, more international brands, much more condos, much more hotels (better ones), much more supermarkets , much more nice and big cafes etc. Although there are still many bikes, still many old houses, still lots of flooding, still lots of sleezy places etc.

i do agree but i feel that the overall lifestyle like street life or most of the local building structure still remain the same but cant really compare to what u observe cos u live and go there frequently.
But like what u mention,i do observe that more and more tall building is been build there,branded goods already start to flood their shopping street,more new apartment and more singapore brand which u will not able to see few years ago.

hhaha, tell me about the `old TSN airport terminal'. Still remember clearly that only a few airlines fly from Singapore to HCMC. Singapore Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air and Vietnam Air. When Tiger Air started to fly to HCMC, Lion Air stopped for a few years, don't know why... Tiger air was chaotic when it first started as its FREE SEATING, no allocation of seats. All the Viets will rush to board the plane and rush for the first few rows. They will push the old people, kids etc. Its like refugees fleeing the country.
I remember watching a video on one of the US channels before that the chairman or former chairman of Macdonalds Inc used to be a verteran of the Vietnam war and he hates Vietcon to the max. He said before that Mac will never invest in Vietnam. Heard before that some rich Viet Kieus in US wanted to buy the Mac franchise to start in Vietnam, but was rejected flat. KFC has been there when i arrived in 2002, heard that its a branch out of KFC franchise in Singapore.

bro,ya ya,haha,i still remember the refugees fleeing the country airport situation.All passenger were all pack to the front door and those airport staff who was infront and behind the door was like scare to open the door cos once open,all the ppl will rush in and they might be stamp flat
Another one is when i first step out from the arrival hall,OMG,saw so many viet ppl standing there like waiting for 'VIP' like me
Thanks for letting me recall all those memory at old TSN airport and present tiger office at HCM now was actually belong to Lion air.Lion stop flying after tiger start their route but came back few years ago.Once i ask the lion manager why lion stop flying that time,he actually told me that Lion left due to disagreement with the local partner and now was back on their own
