Bro, i got married in Vietnam around 5 years ago. Not sure if the procedure has changed.

Documents you will need:

(1) Singapore passport and the photocopy, notorised by Notary public of Singapore, endorsed by Singapore foreign ministry office and also the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore

(2) A letter from Singapore ROM stating that you are single or officially divorced (i think you will have problem with this)

(3) Letter from employer stating your work

Depending on the province that your viet con gal came from, you will need to travel with her back to her province to lodge a marriage with foreigner request to their province government. The province government will send a letter to her house to ask you and yr con gai to go to the province government again in around 2 to 3 weeks time. They will interview you and her to make sure statement is true and really getting married. You will also need to go the mental hospital to check yr mental health. If everything alright, the proivince government will approve and ask you and yr con gai to go down to sign on province government marriage book and issue you with marriage certificate.

Recently i hapen to know a few Viet gals which is my wife's friends who brought them to Singapore to get married, eventually, all have found their husbands. But here comes the true part, almost all of them got kids in Vietnam and all wanted to earn extra even though they already found their husband, and this is very very f**ked up.. I sincerely feel that Viet gals cannot be trusted at all.. Which i've seen most of them, I've seen more than 80% does these things. I've seen good ones also though the husband is poor, but it is really very hard to find. I also wonder myself if i fail in my businesses and what will happen to me then once i gone broke also...

You should wait till your divorce is finalised first otherwise you may be accused of bigamy. I just came back from HCM and read an article in a magazine there. Getting married in Vietnam is a long and tedious process. Easily 1-3 months of waiting, according to the magazine. I think you will need a cert to show you are divorced or single. Got mental check and interview. Good to have photos of you and the girl.

Even foreigners marrying foreigners in Vietnam goes through the process. So if an Aussie guy marries a French lady in Vietnam, the process is the same as if a Sing guy married a Viet girl. Troublesome.

The reality is...These genre of gals can be found in all nationalities, not only Vietnamese. Just gotta open yer eyes big big!!

Most would deem a wedding ceremony being sufficient...Why go through the time-consuming process??

There were quite a few posts made in the past about your question by SV and some other samsters, pls do a search

As to your second question, DO NOT ever commit bigamy regardless of registration in other countries, just wait a while more to complete your divorce before embarking on the marriage.

Its a matter of when you are going to convince the Singapore Authorities (e.g. CPF board, HDB....etc) that you are married and wants to enjoy some of the benefits of being a married man (e.g. use CPF to pay loans...etc), this will means having to produce your Vietnamese Marriage Certficate, which also means, if you still don't get it, they will know you have gotten married while your divorce is not finalised yet, aka committing bigamy.

I remember bro Singviet said can just do customary marriage without ROM. In Vietnam, they accept this as married....But not sure is this what you want??

Yeah bro, was looking for that too. wanted to know what are their procedures as well as costs. I dont wanna become a robert if you know what I mean.

I think majority of viet spouse want to earn outside,may due to their husbands r of low income group and can't support them much.

You need to register your marriage either in S'pore or Vietnam to validate
your marriage.
