In HCM you don't need a Merc to impress.... Just hold the latest iPhone 6 and attention will be generated.

Every time VBs ask about my home value, I always tell them I rent it and it is worth $2m. They cannot event imagine how many zeros in VND.

One of my "AiYa em gai" whom has a degree but jobless will look down on girls that does massage...... Now that is some society ranking shit that I cannot grasp.

My 10 over years of doing business with Vietnamese, this is very common and i always see and experience it. Wealth will determine how you are treated by others in society. You can imagine how i was treated for the years that i was poor and need to earn the money from these middle and higher income vietnamese. Sad but true.

It really depends on which segment of society you are mixing with. For the normal Viets, an IPhone 6 is already something very expensive. For the higher income viets, Iphone 6 is nothing. Same goes for cars, for the normal viets, having a bike is already a luxury, but for the higher income viets, it will depend on the value of the car. Same goes for Singapore, the rich will view MB E250 as B & B car as its all over the roads. Their Bentley will be something of better value. For the rich in Singapore, 2m condo is normal too as their penthhouse may cost around 20m. So different segments of society have different expectations. No matter what, as long as you have worked hard for it, you deserve the respect.

Different people earn money differently. My businesses maintain my daily expenditures while extras come from my properties investments. That's how i earn my simple living. As for using other people's money to generate income, not my cup of tea.

It really depends on what you expect out of your phone. Some find Samsung easy to use while others find Iphone easier to use. Different consumers have different preferences, that's why there's different brands to cater to different needs.

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner

Elsewhere I found another thread posted by an Angmor telling his story about his experience (more like grief!) married to a VB. You can literally feel his 'pain and stress' when he narrates his story. A bit lengthy but to experienced bros here, I suppose nothing surprising

Feel free to check it out

12 years, 2 kind souls. You have to be strong to survive in these kind of environment. Now I can understand why you guys keep repeating about ''go to Vietnam, learn the language, learn the culture, the people' and then make a decision on whether you should settle down with a VB as a life partner. Priceless.

Is Vietnam culture so de-moralised that man behave like beast?
as a gal living in Vietnam is not easy...molest and rape is common especially among family members...really depends whose kids and parents...reason why many faked their ID to be older so that they can start working earlier...

normally I stopped friends from probing if I noticed gals do not want to relate their past...becos no point opening up their wounds...

as for Cong An, I agreed with bro SingViet, they are the biggest mafia in Vietnam, they controlled the black and white....biggest loan shark in Vietnam and loads of cash...used to know a retired District Police Chief...house is big and filthy rich...big loan sharking biz ring starts from Province to HCM...still very influential even retired...son graduated and join Cong An...he was so happy...

teachers are low paying job...but they can get gifts and money from parents so that they can tutor their kids...the university entrance exam is tough and very keen...each year tens of thousands fighting for places...

doctors...if any patient offer money then they jumped queue and gets treated first...the nurses will arranged the queue...

nurses...if any patients wanted services...some hot water, change of soiled bedsheets, etc...family members have to bribe the nurses to get the srvice done promptly....this bribe is daily bribe till discharged...

army generals...those who are high ranking sure has a share in the commercial business offered by the gahmen...heard the casino rights for one island belong to a high ranking general after a foreign company wrote the proposal which supposing 50-50 jv...later the general took it as his proposal and sidelined the foreign company but later ask the foreign to bid as contractor...all about who is powerful...
