Need some advices on PPO

Dear SBF bros,

Seldom post threads despite being one of SBF bro for years.

Recently, got into some heated arguement at home over financial matters. My wife has current outside credit card debts of close to 100k. Lawyers and banks are sending the Letter of Demands

We were married for 1 year plus. And she had only came honest on her financial issue a couple of months back. Obviously I was upset and disappointed. We got into really heated arguements, which i gave her a slap. It was my first time giving her a slap.

She filed for a PPO, and we attended the family court. I told the judge that i would dispute for PPO and contest for it. A trial date was set.

Anyone has experience and maybe can share some advices on how to deal with this whole PPO. Many thanks in advance

Just a note, while your spouse has applied Personal Protection Order, usually the judge won't issue PPO if what you did was give her a slap, particularly when she is the said person in debt. My suggestion at this point of time is being prepared entertaining a divorce case and since she is married a year plus, my limited take is that there is no child custody between you and her in the foresight. Depending on who is responsible over the $100k in credit card debts, it is good that the judge has put in place a PPO and you should continue along this line of jurisdiction if you are the innocent party whether in terms of the $100k debt or domestic violence if any. Let us say you are employed, it is wise imho if you continue staying employable, whether you are clearing the debts on your wife's behalf is what you have to ponder upon. Any separation or divorce is not entirely against your favour, while the alimony if any may still be a burden on you, it can save you from the hassle of fighting a child custody battle eventually.

Of course if it pleases you, or if your wife's debts are not related with gambling, extra marital affairs, drug abuse etc, it is also my duty offering the option of staying on and seeking a reconciliatory compromise somewhere along the legal proceedings, after all the marital vows are there. In the past $100k is a big deal, these days $100k is small case especially if the debts are credit in nature, i.e. if she'd wasted $1 million in cash at Resort World this is pretty bad, but if $100k went via the credit visa or mastercard channel, I can hence deduce that she or you has at least an annual income of a higher than the average, if either or both of you are willing to hold to your marriage vows, you can consider doing this professionally by clearing the debts and usually along the way the courts may also appoint a mediator or a third party in mitigating outstanding matters.

Your marriage is half gone.
Tell us more how come dun know your wife 100k debt...

Such a spendthrift woman should have divorce her...sad to say this...next time you will be in trouble . I have a friend whose wife is a bankruptcy has resorted to look for a more wealthy man for money.... Since is one year marriage , divorcing her is easy . A leopard wont change its spot .

One example is that socialite Teresa. She married many rich men and bankrupted them all including my good friend Kenny Bee. These type of woman better stay far far away.
