Thumbs up Ministers travel like they will die tomorrow

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

Quote:
Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong will visit New Delhi from Dec 3-6 to attend a meeting of the AECOM Global Advisory Board as a Board member.

Whilst there, he will call on Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He will also meet other Indian political leaders, including Union Minister of Urban Development Kamal Nath and Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani, as well as top Indian businessmen.

In the last few months, we have so many ministers visiting other countries. What have they accomplished from those visits? Nobody knows. How much have they spent? Did they have $25k dinners?
Why do we think that these PAP politicians will not misspend our tax dollars?

So, in Wooden Goh's case ...he is attending a board meeting of a business ...and sinkapore taxpayers are picking up the tab? To make it look like official business, he meets up with some Indian minister.
Why are we so gullible to accept such public abuse of our tax dollars?
Wooden Goh should just pay his own way there ...after all, he gets fees for sitting on the board. Does he donate the fees to the country?
