I have to agree with Penguin23,best to explain the situation honestly instead of running away by lying or misdirection. Lies build on the house of cards does not sustain over the test of time. This will lead to trust issue and the relationship between father and daughter will be forever damage and inconceivable.
In my opinion, it is best to explain the situation honestly now rather than later with constant arguing between father and daughter which will eventually tear the family apart further down the future.
