hi all
wanna get some recommendations of pub/disco..
ktv hv up tips to 100 min. 1 or 2 mummy as well.
pub i went GM, PL offered sitting ladies, sg thai vn also 100 tips or ladies drink.
no being stingy but i believe there r still fun reasonably priced places i havent explored

Some had commented & pragmatically, if not rudely, replied on other threads that only the rich should freely go to KTVs, no matter the high prices, & those who have little money, should stop complaining, stay home & DIY.

It's not the right attitude in our democracy & based upon socialist principles to exclude anyone. As long as a KTV is listed as a public space, anyone is free to go, follow & pay according to the regulations of the recreation site.

However, what most here are complaining about is not about the money. As long as one work hard & saves his money to enter such recreation places, he should not be discriminated against, regardless if he is a CEO or a road sweeper.

What customers are complaining are only pragmatically Singaporean concerns - value for money. They don't mind paying the high fees, but what value do they get in return?

They go to such recreation places in expectations of company, but what had such places offered in return for the high charges? Butterfly after 10mins than reappear with every staff-mummies, ladies & even waiters when the night was spent drinking & singing alone, when time to go home?

So Threadstarter, NO NEED to be wary that others will feel you are stingy. You are not. You are only Human, with basic golden rule of not taking others for a free ride, nor do you want others to take you for a free ride.

As KTVs became out of reach to most, due to the insane throwing away of money by the rich & the nouveau riche while drunk, & regretted it the next morning when sober, there are other KTV type concepts, with drinks, ladies & singing BUT in open hall concept, usually small hall with perhaps only 30-60 person capacity, & may not be as wild as private KTV rooms, as it is an open hall with all eyes opened. No citizen would be left behind, even in recreation..

Depending on the crowd, it can be a friendly environment so long as one be cool. In the past, let say 10 yrs ago when such concepts appeared in Spore, the ladies from Vietnam will keep you company, but will butterfly like most KTV, & return back, usually after 15mins. They will collect their tips when you have finished your drinks & wish to return home, usually at just S$20

Do not presume S$20 is small. One nite, with mere 10 clients paying the same, it will be S$200, & if she is hardworking - S$6,000 a mth, which is far, far more than the mere US$400/mth she will earn working in Vietnam.

Prices will always increase due to inflation. However, even with inflation based upon the rule of 72, S$30 tips today & the rise & strenght of the Sing dollar would still give her a far better allowance than working in Vietnam. Thus may bros be pragmatic. Those ladies are not as poor as most will presumed or lied to.

Most of the open hall concept KTVs are along Geylang Road, Macpherson Mall, & Baliestier Rd. The operators are biz entrepreneurs, would rather go for quantity than quality. Liquor prices are generally low or at market rates, & the ladies are freelancers, not staff, but as Spore is an equal society, male or female, local or foreigner, can freely congregate at public & biz establishments.

For their time spent on you, you can tip them according to the value you think they deserved, the way we would pay lawyers for their legal advice & time spent with you, although lawyers would be upfront with you on the costs involved.

Most of those ladies would accept $30 today, as they too are looking for quantity & not quality. 10 clients a night, in 1 mth here they would need not work for a yr in Vietnam.

If you find that after paying them $30 & they don't seem happy, it will be your choice - to patronise another establishment or up the tips a bit to ensure you will be a valued customer the next time you come. Not many of them here now anyway, or maybe ever, as Vietnam today is a progressing rapidly & offering much opportunities to its people.

However do take note. Such places will reserve the right to deny or allow entry into the Pub/Bistro, as they have no wish to be entangled with the Law. Should you seem drunk, or aggressive, or unvax, they will gently recommend that you go find other entertainment spots to be entertained

In the end, some may question the morality of going to such places. However, each Human will at some low point had felt loneliness, more after a horrible 2 yrs of Covid restrictions. Humans are social beings. To be kept isolated is unhealthy to the body & the mind, thus a need to touch base both physically & mentally with another Human, and may not need even with so called 'happy endings'. Just some conversations, a touch, a hug or two would suffice to make one feel Human than to presume oneself a cold lonely robot. The best is still to go for healthy pursuits-make genuine friends, at work or recreation places such as hobbies, & one never need to feel alone again.

Don’t go such places is better. Go massage or fj with many gals also not as expensive keep throwing $100 $200 tips.

$100 tips at pub is an overkill. As what some Bros wrote, $20, $30 or even $50 is ok. If she puts on a sulky face, don't patronize her the next time.

Sitting at the hall talk cock with those butterflies, just tips them 20 is good enough. Inside the ktv room, if they perform some special service for you, then you have to pay more lor. 50 to 100, depend what service she provide. ;)

my opinion 3 categories of diff social activities
1. pub/disco/bistro
2. ktv rooms.
3. health care ml/fl
might wanna split further. jus to simplfy n have easier apples to apples comparison be it organic/inorganic fuji/nz etc
not to compare money to service value with diff category

2. ktv rooms
depending on nationality but in general mostly pricing now 100 per butterfly 100 per mummy 10 per waiter
i feel not worth for now. some even have 2 mummy n more waiter during bill. of cos u can stand ur ground so it defers
3. health care ml/fl
more for solo enjoyment. min pricing 110 for vanilla ml vs 140 for thai fl. do ur research for more hits than misses. depends on ur mood for which purchase i see gd value for both

hoping recommendation for 50 with ladies willing to have fun. of cos respect the lady. tips given shud include wiling to drink play dice etc.

It’s a sad thing.. but anyway, all boils down to our own preference and choice..

For Geylang lor 27, 27A in particular, it’s a HFJ (tips mayb for those freelancer) with singer/DJ-ing.. and min flower $50 up till $1314 :eek:
After all the hanging etc., don’t expect much too.. I see mayb only chit chat n pls dice (they walk/butterfly around too).

For MacPherson - those joint mayb died down due to the re-opening of ktv/pubs.. otherwise, almost every night (or every time I went down) full house. Now is declining in numbers (not sure how they survive).

To back up what the insignificant nobody me had written, I went on observations trips to several nightspots since COVid 19 had been declared endemic months ago, because COVid 19 lockdowns, which had been ill-advised by others, had wrecked havoc upon the mental & physical health on Humanity, & upon fellow Singaporeans, disrupted lives & economics & a need to be repaired so that we can all progress.

From my observations, & not conclusive or based upon clinical research required for informed judgement, for the lonely, divorcees, & almost every Human whom are only social beings & need contact with another fellow Human to feel alive, this was what I had observed:-

1. With the high charges of mainstream KTV with private rooms - $100 precious strong Singapore dollars as tips to ladies whom will only give a mere 10mins per hour to a client, & clients to remain alone for the duration of their session, let alone other high charges such as liquor, room, mamasans, waiters, etc, it had enriched those ladies.


2. As pubs & open concept hall KTV in Geylang opens till 3am, those ladies, with their wealth, had instead invited their VIETNAMESE boyfriends working here in Singapore to enjoy the rest of the night with them, after 11pm, to go there, as patrons & NOT hostess, with those ladies buying liquor for their boyfriends & their VIETNAMESE guy friends, no tipping required, no butterfly all night long with them.

3. I am no xenophobic, & love all Humanity equally. It is just sad to see fellow citizens being taken for a ride at mainstream high charging KTVs. We Singaporeans follow the golden rule - to hurt none & NOT be hurt by anyone.

I had observed that managers of those open hall concept pubs had tried to limit those VIETNAMESE men from entering, rightly so as they seemed drunk & aggressive, probably drunk cheap liquor from shops, with no understanding of the Rule of Law & the tips required to sustain the biz entity, that we in Singapore observed, but it is only a matter of time before profits will rule, & the opportunity for lonely citizens created with open hall concept pubs will be given to foreigners, the way DBS bank was abandoned by Singaporeans seeing higher pay from foreign banks & allowed dubious cheap foreigners in to replace them & now, as PMET kicked out by foreign banks with no loyalty to citizens in times of streamline operations, KBKB with racists comments on how govt had let in CECAs.

We, not anyone else, dig our own graves, by our own misperceived perceptions or misled by others for their own rise to achieve power...

4. Thus, may chiongsters consider carefully what they had been spending for, & where true support of nightlife operators will lay in, for sustainability of the wallets of us all, & average income citizens/chiongsters, for mental health & even physical health for those whom seek 'happy endings'.

Not worth to go pub/KTV in SG, overpriced tips and some more butterfly. I rather go massage in SG and if not going, I rather spend my money in HCM and in return get better quality while spending the same amount of money..

There is ktv pub at 73 Maude, last time used to be pinoys but now become viet joint. 1 beer bottle $10. 1 bucket $30++ for 4 bottles. Quite affordable.

519 Serangoon is an affordable viet joint. Ladies r not SYT though.

If you like PRCs or locals, then the other joints along that stretch also can do :D
