Sinovac was one of the vaccines that Singapore placed an order for.
These pre-orders were a punt, a gamble, but a calculated risk.
Most of the companies behind the vaccines were established and had well-known track records.
Sinovac has had a sketchy history of bribe. It also has a history of non-transparency.
Even if we wanted to take a gamble on a Chinese vaccine, or to maintain relations, we chose the wrong one.
