As we count the hours to see the result of the polls, lets see what led to this referendum.

British citizens became increasingly weary of EU over the increasingly loss of its sovereignty in particular in the area of Human Rights where the laws were set by EU Parliament and interpreted by the EU courts. Rapists, terrorists and even murderers who were not UK citizens could not be deported if they had a child out of wedlock or married a citizen etc. Welfare grants and doles that was made available to citizens had to be given to EU citizens who went to the UK. And EU citizens began using tax payer funded lawyers to fight their case in EU courts.

Those who want UK to remain in EU have become interestingly and strange bedfellows. The bleeding heart liberals, Labour supporters and Capitalists want to remain in the EU for their own agendas. For Capitalist, they need the cheap labour from Poland and the Eastern European member countries to run their factories, man their retail shops and work in zero hour contract terms. Labour needs these workers who traditionally votes for them. The Liberals are driven by principles and want to retain human rights including giving money to everyone that cries.

So who exactly is supporting the Brexit. Well its those in the middle class who have seen their contribution to National Health and Insurance over the years of toil being eroded by new arrivals from the EU. The Tories who law making ability has been twarted repeatedly by EU interpretation of Human Rights laws.

So why is Human Rights EU laws have such a wide impact. Well it cuts across the entire criminal enforcement, prosecution and finally conviction and custodian framework. Criminals and the Legal fraternity have used EU laws to milk the system and enrich themselves. The same EU Human Laws forces UK to give access to EU citizens to its Health and Welfare benefits without contributing a penny. Even more interesting is Non UK and Non EU citizens like those from Nigeria who have criminal convictions have sought relief from EU courts to stop deportation. Same EU laws are used by Non UK Citizens and Non EU citizens to gain access to health and welfare benefits citing human rights issues.

Thatcher's decision to stop the UK giving up its Sterling to join the Euros as a common currency has proved that UK can sustain itself in a common market without sacrificing everything.

Interestingly the various states in the US federal system have comparatively more state sovereignty than the UK. These States can decide on a raft of laws that differ from state to state in the US. Its not the case for the UK.

It will be close to the wire. Lets see what happens in the next few hours.
