Hospital in China occupied by ‘triads’ over financial dispute

Hundreds of men have “occupied” parts of a hospital in China as part of a legal dispute between the head of the medical centre and one of his relatives, according to a news website report.
The occupation at the Zhengzhou Meixin Chinese Medicine Hospital in Henan province lasted from December 25 and January 15, according to Youth.cn.
The financial depute is between the head of the hospital Wang Guangyu and a relative Li Jing, but no details were given of what the row is about.
Photographs in the report show groups of men gambling in the hospital’s lobby. They also show men loitering outside the hospital.
The report alleges that a relative of Li, the head of Zhengzhou’s justice department Guo Zhiyang, was frequently spotted during the occupation.

Hospital head Wang said Guo had represented his relative during negotiations.
Guo was quoted as saying that the hospital had defamed him by alleging that he had led “triads” to occupy the site during the dispute.
It is not clear why the occupation ended, but after Guo first received a formal request at the justice department for a media interview the men left, the report said.
