Sylvia Lim actually lost in her constituency to PAP Yeo Guat Kwang by 100 votes. Sylvia is an elected MP, and the voters have decided not to re-elect her as MP for that constituency, it doesn't make sense for her to stay on as MP because the voters' decision has to stand.

Recall that Sylvia Lim had also said during the election campaign period that WP would remove the GRC system because GRCs are "being used to bring in candidates into Parliament under the protection of" a party heavyweight.

"They dilute your vote and dilute your voice," she said.

Her words have come back to haunt her.

Does Sylvia Lim feel that voters' voice has been diluted by her loss? Does it make sense for her to stand as MP in her constituency given her stand on GRC and her loss?
