Referring to the series of upgrades done in Bedok, including the building of
a shopping mall, bus interchange and hawker centre, Mr Lee gave credit to the
incumbent PAP team for their labour.

So does he mean that the money comes from PAP pockets? What bullshit! It
comes from all of us… the taxpayers!

And BTW, any Tom, Dick or Harry can easily sell off the country’s land to a
private developer to build shopping mall, condo, upgrade this and that facility,
and then outsource to private entity to manage. PAP team or otherwise, anyone
can do it!

FYI Minister Lee, not everyone thinks highly of upgraded bus interchanges and
hawker centres! At least not me!

The upgraded bus interchange simply mean we are killing Mother Earth faster,
with all the air-conditioning being on all the time in the enclosed space. I
would rather have an upgraded open-air bus interchange that is really
sustainable in the long run. What’s the carbon footprint of the bus interchange,
have you calculated? The BS talk by government on sustainability is just lip
service. Please put them into real actions instead!

And the upgraded hawker centre which is now managed by NTUC, have you tried
eating the food there, and compare the quality, before and after upgrading? Some
of the hawkers are still the same, but unfortunately the quality and standard
has dropped tremendously. I am not blaming the hawkers. I know their difficulty
in maintaining “affordable” selling price. Hence some has resorted to reduced
portion just to make ends meet. And hawkers are also humans. By forcing them to
work much longer hours, they can’t maintain their former standard of high food
quality.
