An Indian national who works as a fork-lift driver in Singapore was jailed 30 months for helping his friend dispose the headless body of his friend’s wife at Boon Keng Canal.

Gursharan Singh, 25, is a friend of the murderer, Harvinder Singh, 34, and the duo met at a Sikh Temple at 7am on the day of the murder. The murderer approached his friend to help move a luggage out of his house in Balestier Road. However as the luggage was too heavy and the wheels gave way, Harvinder Singh revealed to Gursharan about the gruesome murder of his wife, Jasvinder Kaur, 33. The couple are both Indian nationals.

According to Gursharan Singh, Harvinder Singh told him that he had a quarrel with his wife and then he punched her in her neck which she went unconscious onto the bed. It is only when Harvinder Singh found her in the same position motionless later did he realise his wife is dead. Harvinder Singh then proceeded to cut off his wife’s head and hands, dumping them into the rubbish bin. The Singapore Police attempted to recover her head and hands at Tuas South Incineration Plant using 30 men but to no avail.

The victim’s body was then packed in a luggage and the duo proceeded to transport the bag to the canal at McNair Road, near Boon Keng MRT station. Harvinder Singh was assumed to have dumped the luggage into the canal after Gursharan heard a loud splash in the water.

Gursharan Singh then received a phone call from Harvinder Singh at 6.33am on the day the body was found (December 12), and a second phone call from him as well informing Gursharan Singh that he is leaving Malaysia.

According to the Police, the murderer has left the Malaysia Checkpoint 30 minutes before the body was found and then made his way back home to India on the very same day. Davinder Singh is now on the Interpol wanted list.
