The double standards behind how the law is being applied is becoming more and more blatant.
Last week, activist Martyn See posted a photo where he has compiled a list of articles from STOMP which he stated have a "tendency to promote feelings of ill-will and hostility between different groups of people in Singapore".
Blogger Andrew Low also compiled a list of these articles on STOMP (http://therealsingapore.com/content/stomp-posts-countless-seditious-articles-causing-xenophobia) and wrote about it.
However, no action has yet to be taken with STOMP.
Here, we compile a list of even more articles which also would fit into the definition of promoting "ill-will and hostility between different groups of people in Singapore".

But more importantly, nothing has to been done to stop STOMP with regards to these "crimes". Why has STOMP been allowed to go scot-free but other websites would be persecuted instead?

But not only that, such comments can also be found on SPH-owned $$$$$$$$$$$$ Forum.

It can even be found on The Straits Times.

But more importantly, the fact that such comments exist and are pervasive on the forum pages show something else - it reflects the anger among Singaporeans.
Several commenters have pointed out that the simmering anger is due to a lack of employment protection for Singaporeans, and also because of the depressing wages. They explain that Singaporeans have become resentful because they have faced job losses in certain job sectors and have seen their wages depressed because of competition with cheaper labour.
However, instead of addressing these issues, the government has instead brushed the issues under the carpet.
The government claimed that the Fair Consideration Framework would benefit Singaporeans by encouraging employers to hire Singaporeans "fairly". However, over the past two years, there continue to be abuses where it has also been recently found that many foreigners hired have also obtained degrees from known degree mills, some of which are even run by private companies in Singapore managed by civil servants.
This has gotten Singaporeans frustrated at the lack of response from the government.
However, instead of taking action to mediate the inequality in Singapore, the perception among Singaporeans is that the government seems to want to quash such conversation.
But what displeases Singaporeans the most could be that even as the government tries to stop such discussion, the media controlled by the government seems to be able to continue to do so, which have sparked talk of the double standards and hypocrisy of the government.
