Following Amos Yee being charged in court on Tuesday (31 Mar) for uploading a video to YouTube that celebrated the death of Singapore’s first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and carried offensive remarks about Christianity, netizens are asking the authorities about the outcome of their investigation into other similar cases.

In the case of Amos Yee, it appears that the police were very efficient in conducting their investigation. They were able to bring charges against the teenager in a record time of 4 days, after he had posted the offending video on 27 March 2015. Amos Yee’s case has since made global headlines (‘Arrest of Amos Yee makes world news‘).

In 2011, netizens made similar police reports against former Young PAP member Jason Neo. At the time Jason Neo had attached a religiously and racially offensive caption to a photo which he uploaded on his Facebook page.

The post showed a photo he had taken of a school bus with Malay children from Huda Kindergarten, in Woodlands, dressed in their uniform which includes traditional Malay headwear. Jason Neo captioned the photo thus:
