A great number of ladies in this modern age are interested in improving their sex life.
However, many do not discuss this delicate issue with their doctors, let alone their partners or spouses, perhaps out of embarrassment.
Many Malaysians do not even realise that there are treatments available for those who have problems involving physical intimacy.
A number of options are actually available for those who wish to improve their sex lives.
Your gynaecologist may be able to help, so don't be shy to ask.

For some women, the vaginal muscle tissues have poor tone and are a bit too "relaxed", resulting in the vagina's diameter being expanded.
The perineal muscles are weak, and the vagina is no longer at its optimum state, resulting in diminished sexual gratification.

In particular, ladies who have had children or are sexually active may desire to revitalise the vagina and attain the best sexual experience possible.

Laser it

One option is laser vaginal rejuvenation.

This procedure helps to tighten the vagina without much discomfort and with minimal downtime.
It can successfully improve vaginal muscle tissue in terms of tone, strength and control.

Firstly, a topical cream is applied on the vagina to numb the area and to make the procedure less uncomfortable.
After half an hour, the area is cleaned before the laser probe is inserted gently into the vagina as the client lies supine.
As the laser probe is slowly and gently withdrawn, the laser fires onto the vaginal wall.

The laser generates heat, which causes collagen remodelling and production of new collagen fibres in the vaginal tissue.
The end result of new collagen formation is the tightening of the vaginal canal.

One can immediately go back to their usual daily routine, such as work or light exercise, after the procedure.
There is usually no major bleeding, swelling or discomfort.
However, the client would have to refrain from sexual intercourse for the next three days.
The actual laser procedure only takes approximately 10 minutes.

A session can be performed once a month. Two to three sessions may be necessary to get the best results.
Up to 95 per cent of clients assessed the change of their vaginal tightness as strongly or moderately improved.
Females who suffer from stress urinary incontinence, which is involuntary urination when coughing, laughing or sneezing, may also possibly find their condition improved after the laser procedure is performed.

Non-invasive alternatives

For those who dread undergoing laser procedures, or feel reluctant to see a doctor for whatever reason, there is the option of Kegel exercises.
These exercises can be practised regularly to strengthen and tone the vaginal canal.
Another alternative is a home-based treatment, where a vaginal-tightening cream containing alum potassium, a naturally-occurring mineral, in applied onto the interior wall of the vagina.

Some creams may also contain plant extracts to hydrate the interior vaginal walls and create a tightening effect.
The tightening effect enhances sensation and sexual pleasure for both a woman and her partner.
This effect usually starts 10 minutes after application and can last for several hours.
Safe enough to use daily, the cream might help women heighten vaginal sensation and achieve more frequent orgasms.
When used as directed, the vaginal-tightening cream rarely produces any side effects.
However, you should refrain from using it if you are experiencing any vaginal disorders, such as vaginal discharge or infection.
The effects of these products are temporary and will go off when no longer used. They are not intended to treat or cure any disease or ailments.
