An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Dear Mr Kumar,
We appreciate u organising the public forum on CPF, on behalf of my elderly relatives staying in your ward.
As they are illiterate, they asked me to help ask some simple qns on their behalf:
1) They said that since govt is afraid that they will gamble away their CPF money away, why did the govt build 2 casinos in the first place?
2) They said that since govt is worried that they will squander away money through prostitution, why allow so many foreign women on social passes to loiter in the streets?
3) They said that since CPF money is supposed to help them retire, why hold their money from 55 to 65 yrs old forcing them to work as they cannot withdraw their money?
4) They said since Medisave is supposed to support their medical treatment, why they still hv to fork out so much cash to see dr and buy medicine as there are so many restrictions in using it to pay for their treatment?
5) And they heard that a lot of Singapore PRs can withdraw their CPF money fully when they go back to their countries, can they convert to Singapore PR instead so that they can withdraw their CPF funds fully at 55 yrs old and they are willing to sign agreement that they will not ask govt for help when they finished their money and will start selling tissues, card-boxes, clean the tables n toilets..?
Pls kindly help to answer as I really do not know how to answer them??? Thanks a lot.
