A wife is at her wits' end after her husband threatened to kill her if she did not become a sex worker to get money to settle his debts.
The woman, who only wanted to identified as Lina, told Berita Harian he wanted her to sell her body after coming under pressure from loan sharks.
Lina, who had lodged a police report, claimed to have been brutalised and insulted by him in front of her entire family.
He had also threatened her with a parang.
"He said he would not hesitate to kill me as he would only be sent to Hospital Bahagia because of his mental distress," she said.
Lina said her husband initially borrowed just RM4,000 to start a business but could not continue the venture when his parents became ill.
She said they had already paid RM7,440 (S$2,897) in August, yet they were still being harassed.
