Ravi responds to MHA statement Quote:
“We refer to the statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs in relation to the Writ of Summons filed by Dinesh’s mother. Like any other litigant, the Government of Singapore (“the Government”) is entitled to dispute the facts forming the basis of the claim brought by Dinesh Raman’s family (“the Facts”) at the appropriate forum. Having refused to direct the coroner to conduct the inquiry to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding Dinesh Raman’s death, it is not open to the Government to state that the Facts are untrue, when the truth or falsity of the Facts are now before the High Court, which will make a determination on the same.”

if the govt can just state what is true, what is the High Court for.
Based on everything MHA has released on this matter
there is very little confidence that the govt has any interest to pursue other plausible accounts of what happened.
That is why it is necessary to bring this to.the High Court.
If the facts are simply established because there is a ruling from the district courts
then what are the higher courts for?

Many singaporeans are watching this because
the official version of what happened 'unprovoked'
attack by Dinesh and death by prone position are less plausible
that the version put up by the mother....and there appear to be a lack
of interest to pursue other plausible
versions as they point to neglience on the part of
the govt. They cannot expect to close this simply by saying
insisting their version of the events is true.
