A group of primary schoolboys were allegedly punched and ridiculed by their religious teacher, who was also accused of throwing a bunch of keys that hit the genitals of a 10-year-old pupil.
The teacher allegedly called the children "stupid and useless" for reporting late at the school's surau for their religious studies on Aug 28.
A 38-year-old parent of one of the boys lodged a police report the same day after her son narrated to her the incident that took place at the school in Taman Tasek Utama in Ayer Keroh, near here.
State Education, Science and Technology, Green Technology and Innovation chairman Datuk Md Yunos Husin said the Malacca education department looked into the allegations and found there was some truth in them.
"The conduct of the teacher was unbecoming," he said.
"And, he shouldn't have manhandled the pupils over a trivial issue," he said, adding that disciplinary action had since been taken against the teacher.
"We have talked to all six affected pupils and found that the incident did indeed take place," he said, adding that the pupils also suffered swells on their shoulders and one of them complained of excruciating pain around his private part."
Md Yunos said the teacher had allegedly also asked the pupils to suck the tips of their pencils and then remarked they "look like drug addicts".
