An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
honesty, integrity and transparency are the hallmarks.of a good govt.
The people have to be given as.much information and data.as.possible to make an informed decision through debate, analysis and their own judgement. Propaganda distort not just the truth but undermine the process through which citizens go through to arrive at a decision everyone can trust.
The PAP closed down.many independent newapapers and now control the maainstream media news using a vehicle called SPH. This lowered the standing of journalism in singapore. The newspapers stop offering indepth analysis but used to support govt positions without criticisms
sometimes the articles are so lopsided it causes people to be angry at the lack of depth and objectivity.
The end result is people losing their trust in the maainstream media.and the govt
