werner herzog has directed a 30-minute short film, acting as public service announcement, that follows the stories of people affected by the consequences of texting and driving. sending text messages while operating a vehicle is the determining factor in more than 100,000 car crashes each year. in an effort to raise public awareness to this tragic statistic, four major cell phone providers in the US -- AT&T, sprint, verizon, and t-mobile -- have recently collaborated for the 'it can wait' campaign. the message is simple and powerful: there is no text message, email, or facebook important enough to endanger your own life and others on the road.
