A fucking joke. Drunk driving, and cause major accident with human injuries. Yet only a small fine and short driving ban. AGC should appeal for heavier sentence, if they are doing their job.

Quote:
SINGAPORE: The driver of a Lexus who crashed his car into two other vehicles after beating a red light was fined $8,000 and handed a three-year driving ban by a district court on Tuesday.

The accident happened in May 2012 at the junction of Victoria Street and Rochor Road, shortly after a high-profile fatal accident involving a Ferrari, taxi, and motorcycle, took place in the same area.

Kelvin Seah Koon Yong, 31, who works for a seafood supplier, had earlier pleaded guilty to drink-driving and dangerous driving.

According to court documents, Seah was on his way home from a pub after having drinks with his friends.

He crossed the junction at a high speed even though the traffic light had already turned red.

Seah then collided with a taxi and another car.

The passenger in the taxi was injured and had to be taken to the Singapore General Hospital.

A police officer at the scene gave Seah a breathalyzer test and the alcohol level in his breath was found to be over the legal limit.

The proportion of alcohol in Seah's breath was 42 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath and the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
