How many calories can you burn when you jog 2-3km? Probably won't take more than 25 mins to run 3 km too. Would you consider playing badminton? It's a 1-1 activity too. 1 hour of badminton burns more calories than 25 mins of jogging. It's more fun too.

I jog with my dogs. Actually running with pet dogs gives the best of 3 worlds. 1) You get to run alone 2) with man's best friends 3) and they in turn attract other new friends to it's owner (minus those aunties/kids) :D But the downside is that you must keep up the pace like stylo-milo Dog Whisperer with discipline, calm and assertiveness and cannot let the dogs run the show or any opportunity for them to lead you when jogging. I seen many meimeis jogging with their dogs but they like chasing after their dogs or running different direcitons :D

Be aware of your surroundings. If you must run in the early morning hours, or evening, be sure you are running in well lit areas.

Be careful of the terrain. You don't know these routes. There are always a lot of pot holes and cracks in the streets and sidewalks that can cause major injury.

Always carry some form of identification in a wrist pocket. Another option is to write your name and phone number on your shoes. Just be sure that there will be someone at the other end to receive your call if you need assistance.

Wear light clothing or a reflective vest if running in the early evening. Try to at least bring along reflective wrist or ankle strips.

Dress appropriately to protect your safety Avoid form fitting jogging clothing. Make very sure that it is safe for you to jog outdoors.

Vary the routes so the running routine will not become obvious to others.

Run against the traffic.

Do not wear head sets when running alone on the street. It is very difficult to hear cars and sirens (or someone running behind you) when you are preoccupied with music.

Run across the street at crosswalks and always pay attention to traffic lights. Drivers have a bad habit of not looking for pedestrians. Be sure to make eye contact before crossing in front of a car. Take note, too, of where the flow of traffic is coming from.

If staying in an unfamiliar area, try to find a running partner that you know.

Train your vocals. In case you need to scream!

Erm if my memory never fails me, it started since last sep when a lady look for jogging and activity partners then gradually a lot of "fitness, healthy and non-sexual" activities started popping out.

I do recall there's a lot of joggers who meet up with this lady but turns up that they are panting just after a while. :eek:

But most of the time I end up going to the gym for combat, MMA or kickboxing.
Otherwise I would be in dance classes like Zumba or Jam.

Night jogging is the best because can feel the breeze and there is less dust in the air cause lesser cars on the road! For those who never try before should really go try! I mean serious jogging btw not just to peek at girls or have some fun in the park lol...
I usually jog on the pavement outside HDB and it is cooler and quieter if you go to the park if you are those who prefer more peace.
