Rape has become endemic in South Africa, so a medical technician names Sonette Ehlers developed a product that immediately gathered national attention there. Ehlers had never forgotten a rape victim telling her forlornly, " If only i had teeth down there."
Some time afterward, a man came into the hospital where Ehlers works in excruciating pain becaused his penis was stuck in his zipper.
Ehlers merged thouse images and came up with a product she called RAPEX. It resembles a tube, with barbs inside. The woman inserts it like a tampon, with an applicator, and any man who tries to rape the woman impales himself on the barbs and must go to an emergancey room to have the RAPEX removed.
When critics complained that it was a medieval punishment, Ehlers replied tersely, " A medieval device for a medieval deed."

So what is you opinion of the RAPEX?

It is a useful device, but I can't imagine a situation where almost every woman goes around everyday with that device stuck in them, must be very uncomfortable. Worse, what if they forget or no time to take it out, and have consensual sex, then how?

Should not limit to only South Africa, but many other countries as well where women are at risk..and many of these are also third world countries where women are often oppressed thru rape.

Then again... although the rapist might get injured but there is a risk of putting the victim being exposed to HIV/STD. Its not exactly a win win situation~

it might work for the primitive bunch of rapist. But will the girl then survive the ordeal?

So later they evolved to kidnapping the woman to a desolated area , force her to remove it herself, then do the deed. Find out this is a good idea and might as well take in sex slave like that then how?

A better solution will be to actually make the streets safer as whole then to use tricks like this.
