Q: Why is it C:\ drive by default and not other alphabets?

A: Way back when home computing first came into prominence in the 80's, the alphabets 'A' and 'B' were already taken up by the floppy disk drives. Hence the hard disk drive is assigned with the alphabet 'C' and remains so till today.
