Well since this is a sex related forum, I thought I might ask this here. Anyone of you sisters or bro's gf/wifey experience bleeding after sex?

Had sex with my bf just now and I guess it was a bit rough and painful... I have been bleeding after that. Normal? Time of the month over so should be big auntie visit...

The first time you have sex, virgin hymen did not fully break.

So maybe your bf can penetrate deeper so it was now fully broken!

Well , it could be really fully deep penetration by your bf, he could have grown bigger n this time really tear your hymen. but do refrain from sex this few days at least to avoid any infection.Take care. :):D

If it was rough penetration and you weren't that wet, it should be alright. Otherwise, go check on it if continues to second day. ;)

The most likey cause is a wart infection which has resulted in cervical dysplasia. Wart infections are caused by a virus (HPV) and the infection is very common amongst sexually active individuals. It's estimated that more than 30% of adults carry the virus. However, there are many different strains of the virus and many are harmless. A few cause infections that can ultimately lead to cancer. It is for this reason that any post coital bleeding needs to be taken seriously as dysplasia is an indication that cell changes are taking place.

However, there can be a host of other causes.

See a specialist. GPs usually don't have the experience or the equipment required to make a proper diagnosis.

It could be. On the other hand, it might be simply be a physical injury caused by rough sex.

The only way to tell is to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis.

Well, the bleeding stopped after a day... Not menses cuz my period was just over when we haf rough sex... A friend told me that after menses end, the vagina wall tend to be more tender that's why might have injured the vaginal walls. Hence, bleeding. Not sure how true it is... Anyway this is the first time I experience bleeding after sex... Shouldn't be as scary as what boss says right?

You could well be right. If it doesn't happen again, chances are the problem was minor. If it's a recurring problem, you need to get it checked asap.

If you're sexually active, you should be going for regular pap smear tests anyway so there's no harm starting right away.

http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/pap/test.html

The appropriate frequency of Pap testing is dependent on age and sexual activity (see Screening: Cervical Cancer (ages 13-18), (ages 19-29), (ages 30-49), (ages 50 and up). The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) revised their guidelines in 2009 to recommend that screening with Pap smears begin no earlier than age 21 and then be performed every two years until age 29. A Pap smear may not be required more than once every three years at 30 years of age and after, with three consecutive normal Pap smears and presence of no other abnormalities. ACOG also recommends that women 30 years of age or older be offered the option of having an HPV DNA test along with the Pap smear. If both are negative, testing should be performed no sooner than every three years.

If a woman has or has had a history of certain conditions, then a Pap smear may be done more often. Some of these conditions include:

HIV
Suppressed immune system, such as a transplant recipient
Her mother took DES (diethylstilbestrol) when pregnant with her
Previously treated for cancer or a condition called cervical intraepithelial neoplasia-2 or 3 (CIN 2, CIN 3)

In other situations, a Pap smear may be ordered when a woman has frequent sexual partners, is pregnant, or has abnormal vaginal bleeding, pain, sores, discharge, or itching

It might be due to dryness, if it is not your period.

Try using lubricants or lubricated condoms, and also enhance the foreplay before getting into it.

good luck!
