Police have arrested a 32-year-old Vietnamese woman suspected of soliciting for sex at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) Hotel.
According to a police press statement, an MBS Hotel security officer spotted a woman loitering at the hotel lobby at about 1.25 am on June 4 this year.
The woman struck a conversation with the security officer and offered him sexual services for $400.
Despite rejecting her, the woman persisted with her offer.
The officer subsequently identified himself and detained the woman.
Police were alerted to the incident and upon arrival at the scene, placed the woman under arrest.
The suspect will be charged in court on June 9, for an offence of soliciting for the purpose of prostitution.
If convicted, the suspect may be fined an amount not exceeding $1,000 and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, be given a fine not exceeding $2,000 or with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or both.
