Health Spa (GrandLink Plaza Closed Down

This long time spa (previously Badminton Hall, later GrandLink Plaza) had suddenly closed down on 15 Sep 10.

Heard that no advance notice given and also other rumours.

One less option for me unless a new managment takes over.

And not forgetting their spa employees who may be caught in the lurch.

But honestly speaking, its charges is quite steep compare to Hot SPA, imagine
$69/- for 45 min massage but i do like the hot jacuzzi as it is really hot!

I went to G spa,and saw several health spa staffs there. After chatting with them,i was told their indian boss lost alot in casino therefore run road liao.....and the place was close down by landlord as several months rental not paid.....

No wonder this week Hot SPA packed...hopeful they will not end up like Health SPA...

Ya, I actually wanted to but was told by my friend to forget it. He got the info from one of the ex-employees working there. Heard also that the Indian main partner/boss bet/gambled big time.

We then decided to go to G Spa and saw a queue including some ang mo at the recept area. Decided to give it a miss also because my friend felt that the price of $108 excluding 7% GST for one hour massage is too steep.

Went to Hot Spa instead. Ya, quite crowded with some foreigners even but only $78 net for one hour massage.

Guess that besides the closure of Health Spa, the F1 has also brought in better business for these two spas over this weekend plus of course other places too.

Anyway, will be looking forward for someone to take over and re-open this icon

Like bro mentioned, some of them sent to G SPA. I do not know the girls at Health SPA well but think most of the massage standard has dropped since the Malaysian girls left and the boss brought in CN girls. I always ask for Jenny and Michelle when I hang out there.

To think about it...went there just on Sunday and saw the spa closed, ended up at the 2nd level spa for massage...i think called Yoli....girls old and cannot make it...only one chio one I saw...called Joey....always fully booked, need to call first to book.

i guess there are politics everywhere even in the spa business. the bigger you grow, you harder you fall? anyway, pity that the health spa is gone. I also think it will not be easy to take over the spa since the boss comitted suicide, will this have any impact legally between landlord and tenant. can they sell the assets?

Recently seem like many HC and spa are closing. Will it be some plot behind the scene happening? Like the govt by closing down will issue it to some "reputable" big organization to run? Or maybe Sands or RWS will to have this as part of biz in the IR too...:confused:

The place is boarded up and under renovation. There is a notice stating "Spa 1, opening soon". Don't know when exactly but certainly looking forward to it. Hopefully the same good facilities.

Bro, u r absolutely right. Opened on last Tuesday...entrance now facing the escalator. Facilities basically the same, no overhaul but still good. But not many masseuses now and mainly madams. Food still as good and their tuna sandwich was good. But slight increase in price for 45 min and 60 min sessions...

tried this new spa before CNY. overall very new n grand.
good facilities such as steam bath, suana, hot & cold pools, canteen with decent food, tv area etc.

now the impt part, wat services do they provide? the answer is... clean massage only. the massage is done in an open room, with many other bros around side by side. so most pple keep quiet during the massage, as others will be able to hear wat u say, so can forget abt chit chatting. and the massage ladies are a mix of young & mature ladies.

some ratings below:
facilities: 10/10 (good n new, cant ask for more)
food: 9/10 ( a wide variety)
service: 9/10 (quite impressed, there are pple showing u to locker, getting shorts, towels, slippers for u)
massage: 8/10 (too hard for my liking, bros who like hard massage can try)
damage: 70+ for 45 mins and 80+ for 60 mins, but u can stay inside to use the facilities and makan as long as u like

not cheap but maybe i'll go once a month to relax n get proper massage.
